Leny Yoro has handed a boost to Real Madrid as he is reportedly prioritising joining Los Blancos when he leaves LOSC Lille.

According to reputed Spanish journalist Ramon Alvarez de Mon, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain are keen on signing Leny Yoro. The 18-year-old wonderkid knows his preference and will prioritise joining Los Blancos when he leaves LOSC Lille. But it is unclear if the Spanish giants want to secure his services in the summer transfer window.

The Rise of Leny Yoro

Leny Yoro is one of the best young defenders in the world. A graduate of the LOSC Lille youth division, he made his first-team debut as a 16-year-old in May 2022. Since then, the Frenchman has come leaps and bounds, becoming a mainstay at the back for Les Dogues this season.

The 18-year-old has turned out 31 times across all competitions for LOSC Lille thus far this term, chipping in with three goals. But Yoro faces an uncertain future at Stade Pierre-Mauroy as he has entered the final 18 months of his contract with the Ligue 1 club. Such a situation has piqued the interest of several high-profile clubs, including Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Real Madrid’s interest in Leny Yoro is understandable. Carlo Ancelotti has an ageing defensive unit, with Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba, and Nacho on the wrong side of 30. Meanwhile, Nacho is in the final six months of his contract, with Serie A clubs keen on securing his services. PSG’s interest in Yoro comes in the wake of uncertainties surrounding Presnel Kimpembe’s long-term future. With Marquinhos also attracting interest from many high-profile clubs, it behoves PSG to scour the market for a young centre-back.
